Saturday, October 27th, 2012
Every year, elderly and disabled residents in our community struggle to rake their yards in preparation for winter. Each Make A Difference Day, United Way Volunteer Connection coordinates the largest raking project in the area, helping give these residents peace of mind.

5th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser for The Neighbors' Place
Saturday, October 27th, 2012, 11am-2pm
The idea of the Empty Bowls Fundraiser is simple. It is part art, part soup and a lot of heart.
Artists have handcrafted and donated over 900 bowls to the project. Area chefs and restaurants donate their signature savory soups and local businesses, volunteers and other vendors donate time, supplies, products and services for the event.
For a suggested $10 donation, those attending eat a modest meal of soup, bread, dessert and take home their chosen bowl as a reminder that somewhere in our community someone has an empty bowl.
